Three Sad Tigers Eat Cereal at the Server Farm is the fourth zine released under the Institute of Machine Unlearning.

It gathers traces from the Institute's first exhibition, presented over three days in January 2026 at mais uno +1 project space in Lisbon, Portugal. We transformed the space into a temporary Institute of Machine Unlearning studio, bringing together six months of participatory experiments exploring how we relate to AI through play, collective making, and critical mischief.

The exhibition brought together speculative datasets assembled during collective walks, experimental CAPTCHAs that resist algorithmic recognition, collages remixing better imaginaries of AI, prototypes, games, conversations, and workshop fragments.

Like the Institute itself, the exhibition remained deliberately unfinished. Visitors were invited to create their own CAPTCHAs, remix images, annotate walls, and leave traces behind. The closing gathering gradually transformed the room as new interventions accumulated, allowing the exhibition to be reshaped by the people who encountered it. Participation was not an educational supplement to the artworks but part of their completion.

This zine documents that temporary constellation. It combines installation views, artworks, photographs, participant interventions, and exhibition texts into a portable archive of something that existed briefly and was left behind.

The Institute of Machine Unlearning publishes zines as an extension of its practice. They document ephemeral gatherings, circulate ideas beyond spaces, and offer another way for workshops, conversations, and experiments to continue travelling after the room has been packed away.
